There is a kiosk for visitors (users) to find certain pieces of art that they want to see. The kiosk is tied into the database and acts as a “user interface.” The Kiosk is more of a “front end” device that is designed to enhance the visitors experience.

The Kiosk is broken down into similar categories that the staff will see and also use. However, the end user will not be able to see information such as the arrival date, value and other security measures that are held internally. The Kiosk also reports back to the staff to populate information that the Museum may find helpful such which items did people “search for the most.” The Kiosk is managed by a DBMS. The DBMS is a fraction of what makes up the entire system that interacts with the database directly.

Conclusion

The Art Museum is a business that has been in place for more than 50 years. The Art Museum has had certain pieces of art to “disappear.” Therefore, the Art Museum now has elected to implement a system that will track all of the information about the art and also the staff that comes into contact with the art pieces. The database will be an Oracle based system. The Oracle system will be a 12C system that allows the Museum to have cloud based functionality. Oracle Database 12c introduces a new multitenant architecture that makes it easy to consolidate many databases quickly and manage them as a cloud service. Oracle Database 12c also includes in-memory data processing capabilities delivering breakthrough analytical performance. Additional database innovations deliver new levels of efficiency, performance, security, and availability. This will promote growth and enhance the clientele base.
