It’s a shame that national cultures are being replaced by an international culture

Nowadays modern society has changed the human mentality, being strongly influenced by the phenomena that captured the Global world.  The phenomenon of globalization has begun to make step by step its presence felt in what is concerning the cultural sphere and the national identity of the mosaic of people that globalization it aims.  If until now, people were strongly connected and individualized by the concept of cultural identity, now world is seen due to globalization,a “global village” in which different cultures are struggling to cope with the forces of assimilation and Globalization to preserve their own  identity as a treasure.   In a very short time ,we were influenced  and assaulted by a lot of cultures and as a matter of fact, everybody wants  to take and to learn from other culture, the things that they ignore in their own culture. As far as I am concerned,I find this thing a real shame because doing this,we kill our own national culture.

Firstly,I think that an important argument against the cultural globalization is that national culture is an elementary symbol of our identity as a nation and it also defines a shared sense of custom, language, belief, behavior. Culture identity is extremly important for a country because if a country’s nationals share with the same culture identity, the country would be much easier to step forward, in the sense that an authentic culture leads step by step to the flourishing of  the true inner values,as : order, justice, truth, equality, honor and freedom, values of nature meant to approach individuals.

Secondly, culture is our heritage left by nature and in the same time,an important part that reminds us of our origins and last but not least,it gives us a warm feeling of belonging. This sense of belonging generates in its turn, the sense of security and the oppurtunity  to build relationships with someone who share the same culture with you. In this way, culture allows people to unite among themselves through tolerance and solidarity, thing which is annihilated by the phenomenon of globalization, under the pretext of obtaining a global culture.

Also, the phenomenon of globalization doesn’t  generates so many culturally positive things,as it is assumed. I affirm this thing, taking into account the fact that the globalization has a decisive impact on cultures as well on the national identities. This process doesn’t always involve a high level of communication and exchange between different cultures, as it is supposed to. In particular, there is a tendency to impose a dominant culture over the other, leading to a process of cultural uniformity. Durring this process, instead of being preserved and promoted ,cultural identity of countries is anihillated and replaced by the dominant one.

Moreover, the strict boundaries between countries have led to the creation and the definition of them  only in relation to themselves, without taking into account the issues and the concepts from the outside. In this way has resulted the appearance of the cultural multitude, and also the idea that each nation must keep safe its specificity, or rather its "national identity".  This statement highlights the original character of the national cultural identity, and also the necessity of the existance of the multinational diversity. But cultural diversity and originality are day by day more threatened by the varied phenomena of globalization, a phenomenon that will lead eventually to a complete cultural uniformity.
