What we know is that we are confronting a computerized partition and a digital divide. Web access is a critical asset and disparity in Internet access is a noteworthy open approach issue. (DiMaggio and Hargittai, 2001.)

Parts of the world are more presented to the Internet than others. The parts that are more connected to the Internet are the nations of the Global North. A large portion of the Global North has Internet infiltration, verging on each nation of the Global South doesn’t.

What are the different reasons of this digital divide?

- Class division: If you’re a poor or displaced person, the odds are far-fetched that you’re going to have Internet access.

- Infrastructure division: It’s the base. If a country’s infrastructure doesn’t allow Internet penetration, it doesn’t make a difference in case you’re rich or poor, there’s not Internet entrance. Yet, the greater part of the nations has these foundations since elites utilize the Internet.

- Generational division: If you’re old, you simply don’t see how to utilize the new innovations.

Internet and Accuracy vs. Speed

There’s a difference between the Internet today and the “old” one. In the old days, many people simply utilized the Internet to hunt down information. Today’s Internet is an advancing device that contains a stunning assortment of data. It also gives better approaches for communication and interacting with individuals and substance. Thus, new terms are continually showing up.

There are many traps on the Internet today. One of them is accuracy vs. speed. In our modern world, individuals need to be the first to discuss something or to post a story. So they frequently compose a story truly rapidly and distribute it without checking its exactness. In order to be the first to publish a story, many people, often journalists write uncertain or false information. This is very wrong. According to Stephen J. A. Ward in his book “Digital Media Law,” one the main principles of journalism is to seek the truth and report it. (Ward, 2011.)

Influence of the Media:

On Children:

The media have a profound influence on the psychosocial development of children. Therefore, it is essential that doctors discuss with the child’s parents about the child’s exposure to various media according to the age of their child and to explain the appropriate use of all media, including television, radio, music, video games and the Internet.

Television for example has a positive potential according to the American Academy of Pediatrics Committee. Television can be a teacher of great influence (Salomon, 1977). Sesame Street shows how the educational television toddler valuable concepts like racial harmony, cooperation, kindness, simple arithmetic and the alphabet. Some programs of public television make you want to go to the zoo, library, bookstore, museum and other recreational places. Clearly, educational videos can be a powerful means of prosaically education. In fact, in certain disadvantaged areas, good television habits can become a beneficial teaching tool.

Some chains, like The Learning Channel, are recognized for promoting learning by shows like Ready, Set, Learn. Many channels now offer educational programs and morning shows that target the youngest audience and this is very important to the growth of a child. Television can be dismissed but it’s better for a child to grow with the presence of this technology.

On teenagers:

Teenagers are constantly in contact with the media. Video games, television, Internet, these media are part of their life and it is really difficult for teens to live without them. Media Awareness Network and the Canadian Pediatric Society specify in their research that young people aged 9 to 17 will, after school, listen to music, watch television, connect to the Internet, and also play video games.

It is to obtain a temporary identity in an age when bodies change, where the characters evolve and where the "I" sometimes finds it difficult to define. "So we can say that the influence of the music can be positive for a young man who is in search of his identity. In short, recognizing or learning to know each other via a musical style is an inevitable step for these adolescents.

In addition," teens "like to indulge in video games in their free time. Indeed, video games are still a good influence on them in maintaining the measures, which, according to the Belgian Web site www.informaticien.be
