wanted to die on her own terms. She says in an article “Having this choice at the end of my life has become incredibly important. It has given me a sense of peace during a tumultuous time that otherwise would be dominated by fear, uncertainty and pain.” Britney is held as a hero is a narcissistic move by giving up on life. She allowed the taking of her life become a heroic move and an example for others that have or are currently dealing with a terminal instance like her’s. Her being held as a hero can be seen as a narcissistic move by giving up on life. Another instance a man named Michael Freeland was given the wrong prognosis and was not told that he had less than six months to live. Physician suicide is affecting many people who are in need of assistance, counseling or better, positive alternatives causes for their problems, both mental and physical. From a non-christian point of view it does seem as though it is right and is the only hope to end the patient’s suffering is to end his or her life. When doing so, who is not to say that God does not have the power or the will to cure cancer or to heal the paralyzed.
In closing, it is obvious that the differing world views and diversity in the united states will continue to cause to debate on physicians assisted suicide. This will continue to be a debatable topics from both favorable and unfavorable positions. While New Mexico, Montana, California, Vermont and Washington have legalized physician assisted suicide procedure it is inevitable that other states will follow suit. However with the strong emphasis with the strong influence of the archdiocese of Chicago in particular it is not likely that the state the state of Illinois will not follow through with passing this act in the near future. Humanistic worldview positions have a significant influence about how a person view’s life and death. The more humanistic our society becomes it pushes us farther away from a creator, creation position. And rather empowers people to assume the time of their death. That being said Christians should have a greater sense of urgency about sharing the gospel message to others.
