- Depression.

- Irritability.
- Humiliation.

Many barriers make it difficult to know exactly how common suicidal behaviors are in the general population and in particular groups. For example, because death certificates do not indicate sexual orientation and gender identity, rates of death by suicide in the LGBT population are unknown. (www.cdc.gov/injury/wisqars).
National vital statistics System operated by National Center for Health Statistics, CDC shows that women are more likely than men to have thoughts about suicide and to attempt suicide however men are more likely than women to succeed and die from suicide. Suicide methods differ from men to women. Men are more likely to attempt suicide by the use of firearms and women are more likely to use poisoning (www.cdc.gov/injury/wisqars).
If someone I knew was having difficulties with emotional regulation, interpersonal style, or impulse control my best advice to them today would be to seek medical attention. I say this now because I am not educated enough to give the proper advice. Someone with this mental problem could have other mental issues that I’m unaware. This could be very dangerous. Someone’s life could depend on my advice. So as I said, I would direct them to a mental health care professional and or facility. This would be the same way I would handle if someone I knew was threatening suicide in an overly dramatic way. Again, I’m not educated enough to give that medical advice. I would call the emergency 911 phone number and get a professional there right away. Until they arrived I would sit with the individual and listen to what they had to say and go from there. I would have to be in the situation to answer this question correctly.
