According to the employees who worked at Foxcon, the workers were put to work without any form of training and were paid low wages that did not much with the amount of work that they were doing. The employees also claimed that they were not equipped with safety clothes and that the factory was chocked with dust which no one could bear (Chitrao, 2014). Several reports from the inside part of Foxconn factories suggest that, while the firm is more advanced relative to its competitors, it operates in a “military” fashion in which a majority of customers could not cope with. This is indicated by the level of employees turn over which is up to 24000 every month (Heerden, 2012). The employees said that Foxconn initially declined their request for negotiation; conversely, the police and fire services treated them in a more reasonable manner. As asserted by Tu (2012), the spokesman of Foxconn claimed that the welfare of the employees is their priority and that they are committed to ensuring that all the workers are being treated fairly.

Conclusion

This essay analyzed critically the organizational behavior issues that have faced Foxconn Company, a Taiwan firm which is the largest manufacturer of electronics. Notably, the organizational behavior is often concerned with how employees, individuals and management behave as well as interact with the organizational setting. The major issues which tend to influence the organizational behavior include the corporate culture that is experienced within the industry, organizational change and customer’s expectations. The principles of the organizational behaviors are also important since they guide the firms in formulating the standards of the organizational behavior. Based on the essay, the employees of Foxconn worked under unsafe conditions. Moreover, the workers were working beyond the legal working hours. In addition, it was noted that the factory employees under aged individuals thereby, breaking the child labor; this factors increased employees turnover and resulted to a huge number of employees committing suicide in the factory premises and their dormitories.
