Electronic media and its convergence did help to transform journalism and new consumption. Because of the new technology, journalism has been changed by convergence media by having faster turnaround time. For example, with a newspaper, it has to be printed which means today’s news tomorrow. Many news stations have deadlines that they have to meet or either they provide the public with live updates from current reporting’s. Due to advances in technology, electronic media has become the way to do it all. This helped to engage journalism and news consumption because over the last few years, many people have moved to the internet to get the information they may need. Information from the Internet has much more detail than if it were to be broadcast or in the newspaper. Many journalist and reporters include many different aspects in their writings that they could not have done without the internet.
Overall media is very beneficial to the public. It keeps us updated on many different issues going on in the world. Many people believe that media has a big social responsibility. Reporters and journalist have to provide the public with the latest information on current issues. Media also takes part in shaping peoples political opinions. Biased news reports and untrue publishing’s really altered people’s opinions. It hindered people from doing their own research and making up their own mind. Electronic media and news convergence definitely shaped journalism and news consumption. Due to advances in the internet, turnaround time and live updates allow for journalist and reporters to keep the public updated and for people to get the latest news simply and quickly.
