Touristic Place of Guatemala:
SAN ANTONIO AGUAS CALIENTES
It is also know as San Antonio of Padua. There are two villages in this town: San Andres Ceballos and Santiago Zamora. It’s located next to Ciudad Vieja, eight kilometers away from Antigua Guatemala. The official language is Spanish but most of people speak Kaqchikel.
There are some places that you can visit in San Antonio such as: a hill called “Ukux Juyú” where you can find a cool weather, a lot of trees, birds, a waterfall and of course peace; “El Mirador” is another place that you can find an amazing view of all the town; The Central park and the Catholic church are some of the touristic places, next to the park there is a typical market to buy souvenirs and a museum inside showing how the guipiles change through the years, some blocks ahead there is a hotel called “Arcos de San Antonio”, there are a lot of bakeries, drougstores, stores, some restaurants, and more… The most important festivity is to commemorate Saint Antonio of Padua in June 13th, there are so many activities during this festivity but for me the most important are the Mass and Corpus Christi, people usually make carpets made of flowers to thank God for health, work and food.
