Some things that really stood out to me in the meeting (one golden nugget that you can keep) were some quotes such as:

- When I stopped living in the problem and began living in the solution that’s when the problem went away.

- An acceptance is the answer to all my problems today when I’m disturbed it is because I find some person, place, thing or situation “some fact of my life” unacceptable to me, and I can find no serenity until I accept that person, place, thing or situation as being exactly the way it is supposed to be at this moment.

- Selfishness, self-centeredness! That we think is the root of our troubles driven by a hundred forms of fear, self-delusion, self-seeking, and self-pity, we step on the toes of our fellows and they retaliate. Sometimes they hurt us seemingly without provocation but we invariably find that at some time in the past we have made decisions based on self which later placed us in a position to be hurt so our troubles, we think, are basically of our own making.

It was a very inspiring meeting because you could see the men’s commitment to making sure they have a good working knowledge of the big book, being of service to others and wanting to see others succeed. Everyone was friendly, welcoming and there is either funk music playing or oldies music before the meeting starts while everyone is meeting and having coffee before it begins. In my opinion it is a rock solid meeting and I would recommend it to anyone. They make sure they share their experience, strength and hope and their primary focus is to stay in the solution.
