Strengths

- We provide quality, affordable products locally for exportation.

- We inhabit a valued and ethical working atmosphere for our population

- Mauritius is ranked 19th in the world as far as doing business is concerned and 1st in Africa in terms of good governance according to the Mo Ibrahim Index.

Weaknesses

- The country has been quite resilient to the World Economic Crises which started in 2008

Economic Environment:

Opportunities

- Economic growth usually means a higher standard of living within an economy, which also results in greater consumer spending therefore opening more markets globally. Overall globalization is opening markets for our local people to grasps by selling products to other markets.

Threats

- Economic growth is occurring around the world and is opening the door to evolving companies (for example firms in China are gaining a comparative advantage due to low labour cost allowing them to have greater focus on their R&D, research and development). This is a huge threat to us.

- Increasing basic needs cost is having an impact on the local population consumption

Cultural / Social Environment:

Opportunities

- It is said that women influence the overall behavior when educating their children at home; therefore promoting productivity to the housewife is important.

- A presently huge concern in many nations is environmental issues. Global warming is scientifically proven to become a surfacing concern for the up coming years. Government can look at this situation as an opportunity by innovating environmentally working conditions.

Threats

- People are presently stuck in traffic jams for going to work. This has a negative effect on their productivity during the whole day. Being productive is to be punctual at work.

Technology Environment:

- Computer literate compulsory in all organisations

- Companies evolving in china with high tech, up to date equipment and tools are ahead of the game.
