Women that the Air Force and Navy have a rate of 5.8% rape, 10.3% for Army and 13.3% for Marines. Women who experience rape while deployed... find themselves in more traditionally male-dominated environments compared with other deployed women. …Furthermore, in these high-stress and often life-threatening environments, prioritizing the identification and prevention of sexual stressors may be more challenging, perpetrators may be less concerned with consequences of committing assault, and perpetrators may be less likely to be held accountable for their actions.

Many people tend to focus on a women’s safety in the military and not so much the men. There is a 56% (in 2010) rate of men being harassed and rapped. The men being harassed are more prone to report it than the women of the military.

“ It is not accepted in our culture that this happens to men so they are far more ashamed and embarrassed and far less likely to talk…”, states Dr. Curt Dill.

Many times a woman’s rape is overlooked and forgotten. The stress levels are high there are life- threatening events going on that the perpetrators may be forgiven or charged lesser.

On average the united states pays women less than two-thirds as men. However the women and the men in the military have an equal pay. Women were not always given the same education because back then (Early 1900’s) they were not allowed to serve the same roles as the men. However men were thought to be more professional in the field because they were more fitter than the few women in combat
