Traveling and settling down in Toronto made me a more independent person. At the very beginning, it was my parents who decided to send me abroad mainly because of the exam-oriented education in China, which is quite tortuous and exhausting that can make students study less effectively and efficiently. After I have done all of the procedures, I flew to Toronto, Canada on my own. I found the time lag very annoying after the long journey because I could hardly got any sleep from the plane. Fortunately, my host family came and picked me up at the airport so that I did not have to turn to Google Map in this totally unfamiliar place. After resting for only two days,I found that I had to deal with almost anything relating with my new lives their, which could really drive me mad because there were so many things that I needed to handle by myself, like bank account, cell phones.etc. Honestly, I did not need to do almost anything except studying in China because my parents would always deal with those insignificant stuff for me. However in Toronto, a place I could no longer rely on my parents, I had to learn some basic skills in my life step by step so that I could keep pace with the approaching studies there and get rid of errors. After gradually adapting to the lives there, I found that I really changed a lot, from a naive person to a more independent person.
In conclusion, these mentioned experiences of mine have great significance and are all unforgettable memories to me because they really make me change a lot. All of the places and people I went to and met really have a tremendous influence on me, which helped build up my confidence, politeness, independence and perseverance. I really appreciate what those places and people have taught me.
