is the troublemaker of the Simpson family where as his little sister Lisa is the middle child and is the moral centre of the show.

I’m presenting this episode as a parody to convey the message that dumping/disposal of industrial waste is affecting our waters.

The humour of the dinner party with Mr Burns shows irony because he can’t swallow the three eyed fish. There is a double meaning because Mr Burns can’t swallow the fish in literal sense and he also can’t swallow his own lies/story which is what the fish represents. He is trying to use political spin to convince everyone that the fish is evolution not a mutation.

In my cartoon there is also some situational irony such as a ‘plutonium rod used as a paper weight, gum used to seal crack in cooling tower.

Bart’s character is shown to use sarcasm. When Shutton says to him that, in his day they didn’t speak to elders in that way. And Bart responds by saying “Well this is my day and we do, sir”

An understatement in my work adds to the humour when Mr Burns says “Ah, I suppose that’s normal background radiation?” The issues are exaggerated to get the audience to laugh.

Overall I believe that this cartoon will appeal to a wide range of audience. But the humour is pitched to the more political viewers. I’ve used a wide range of represented characters which are easily recognised in the mainstream society. I have also used many techniques such as exaggeration, irony, humour, sarcasm, and caricature.
