Another writing to learn assignment that holds educational merit is the life plan assignment. In a nutshell, this writing assignment was to assesses where we want to be at various points in our future. We then assessed the reality of our more likely financial situations and compared the two. In my particular case I found that my future ideal lifestyle was not even close to being supported by my expected future income. This assignment served as a wake up call because I had not realized what all of these things I grew up with actually cost. Sometimes we just assume certain amenities are a part of every day life because we grew up with them. For example, my family takes an island vacation every year and I just assumed that this would something I would do with my family when I have one. What I failed to realize is that these types of trips are not free, and if I want to provide the life for my family that was provided for me I have to work hard at it. Hard work transcends all things and that is without a doubt the most valuable thing I could have taken away from this writing assignment.

Overall, QU 201 has some great qualities. The open dialect and freely flowing discussions make it very easy to get engaged and stay engaged in whatever lesson is taking place. It is a comforting environment where students can constructively criticize each other without fear of reprisal. Having said that, there is always room to improve the course and make it more effective. One suggestion I may make is to offer more community events like the Socrates Café and have more guests come into the class to actively participate in the discussions. Students will greatly benefit from the added exposure out of the classroom events like these offer them. In conclusion, QU 201 was a great learning experience and I really enjoyed taking this course.
