Logos are widely used in almost all the advertisement because they use causal arguments: if you buy this your life will be like the one in the advertisement.

"Combining rhetorical appeals provide authors with powerful modes of persuading their audience; however each appeal functions as an efficient mode of persuasion alone." [1]

Successful argument must also take into consideration not only the rhetorical situations but also the context: time, place & values. Aristotle referred to the right time and place of an argument as "Kairos" while he referred to the values of the audience as "Doxa"[2] It is clear that the author of the Starbucks advertisement has a good awareness about the importance of these two factors to create a powerful argument. In our modern society, people are overloaded with work so the need to stay awake and active to achieve more. The lack of time and energy became the motto of our generation. Thus the solution to all these problems came in the form of the Starbucks coffee as a powerful drink that will make an end to all our problems. In here, the author took into consideration the needs of this generation as they tend to be in rush all the time, so they made for them a very accessible drink that can be grabbed and enjoyed easily while driving or walking.

It is clear that our modern society becomes dominated by the visual aspect of our world. We take in advertisements faster than we take in facts, but what these ads convey remains vivid in our memories, so those images manipulate our society views and choices. My Starbucks advertisement is a good example of how the power of language along with the visual elements help to lure the customers while gaining profits and an elevated image that help companies to promote their brands.
