` One of the domains that education aims to equip the students is affective domain. According to the website On the Cutting Edge (2016), the affective domain Based on the video, can see how learning using videos gives the teacher opportunity to sit with the children and spend time talking to them to see how the they are coping with the video in their learning. As every pupil is watching the video, the teacher can go to them one by one and see them personally instead of addressing them as a whole class. In fact, the teacher can call up any of them to sit with her and talk about their progression and it only takes up to 3 minutes to sit and just talk and see how they are progressing. This is a quality time where every classroom in the world needs to practice in order to achieve the goal of producing holistic students, not only focusing on preparing them to sit and excel in their examinations. As Sal Khan said in the interview, this is the act of humanising the classroom. According to Oxford Dictionaries (2016), humanise mean “Make (Something) more humane or civilised” and “Give (something) a human character. By using the videos as a learning tool, the teacher can humanise the classroom by spending quality time talking to each of them closely. This is the act of giving human characters, not only being strict and instructing the students to finish all the homework.
As a conclusion, the use of video in teaching is not a new thing anymore. In fact, ones should feel left behind if they still not used to learning using videos. Especially the educators, they should know the importance of adapting video learning in the classroom. It is now the world of information and technology. We would not want our students to be left behind when they further their study because they do not have the skills to learn using videos yet. We can start now, and we can start small by using just a video as a breakthrough. As I teacher with no experience of learning using video during my school years, I can see how unlucky I was before. But that does not mean that my students will have to undergo the same thing. As an educator now, I would definitely agree with the statement above and as an effective teacher, I would continue increase the number of videos in my teachings. I do not have the ability to make interesting videos like Sal Khan by myself, but I can always surf the internet to find suitable videos for my language teachings. At the same time, I can promote independent learning, motivations, interactive learning and I can humanise my classroom by using the videos as a tool in my lesson.
