Koirala has saved 50,000 women and children since the 90’s herself and with the help of employees and police forces. To distinguish oneself in a society that women were not respected is truly courageous, she could be wonderwoman
Today, Anuradha’s heroic persona has been widely recognized through numerous awards including First Prize, CNN Hero of 2010, Global Peace Governor Award, The United Nations Women’s Organisation Prize and Courage of Conscience Award.
Both Schindler and Koirala are classic examples that heroes can emerge from the darkest of places and contribute to a greater good. These two heroes were taken from horrific circumstance; they have both experienced the hardships of particularly troublesome times in their communities.
Regardless of it being 1939 or1993, there will always be people around the globe who are not capable of protecting themselves. Modern day heroes are essential as they are a voice for those who are unheard or ignored.

There will always be a single person without a cape or skin tight lycra suit, who will rise heroically to the challenge of defending the dignity of human life in all stages. This is precisely what Schindler and Koirala have done.
