There was a man who actually understood what we were going through and allowed us to rent his home it was over what we could afford so we took the risk. We moved into his home in 2013 and stayed there with our family. The children were finally getting adapted to a new home. He was starting to heal but emotionally he still struggled with the idea of not being able to effectively provide for his family. With lots of prayer and strength; some help from our families. We were able to overcome all these tragic event and homelessness. After being homeless I’ll define it as not having a place to call home or an address to define your residency.
Many valuable lessons were learned from this experience. We truly learned strength and endurance when you have the responsibility of your children and a very sick family member. I wish we didn’t have to experience this but it taught us how to help someone else that’s going through this situation. While this was definitely something I wouldn’t wish on anyone. We were able to help other homeless families my donating to an organization that gives vouchers to homeless families, to help them with starting over. This really help me by helping others. It help me to know someone was going through the same struggles as my family. My heart has never felt so much pain; it was more for my children and husband. Children should never have to experience homelessness because it makes them feel like it all their fault. My kids were able to think of this as a vacation but I knew different. This experience gave me the tools to do whatever it takes never to experience this again. We’re not defined by our circumstances but how we overcome.
