My most recent relocation has been the one that impacted me the most. It is not the location itself, although I do love Miami, but it was the school that changed my life and me completely. Leaving Argentina behind was like leaving myself and whom I was behind, and it took me three years to understand that wherever I am, I can be whoever I want to be. I wanted to be me, but my head was so concerned with Lincoln and my friends that I did not realize the treasure I had found. Westminster Christian School is my home, and I do not say that blandly, I truly mean it from the bottom of my heart. This school saved me; it brought me salvation, and it helped me build a relationship with my Savior. My family has always had Christian beliefs and values, but I was not saved until Warrior Week 2014 when I accepted Jesus Christ into my heart. I remember that last chapel where I simply cried, repented, and opened my heart and soul to the Holy Spirit. Since then I have been growing in my faith with the support from my teachers and school. Going to WCS everyday makes me happy, that is where I was meant to be, that is where I will graduate from, that is my home. It is my fifth year attending Westminster and I cannot imagine my life any other way. God had a plan for me, I always knew this, but coming to Miami gave me the chance to pursue a relationship with Him. All the friendships I have built here are so incredibly special and important to me. One day I hope to give back to Westminster what it has given me.

A home can be whatever the imagination comes up with. It is a place where there are no limits to who I want to be. One may have one home, or one may have many homes. I like to think that I have many, because to me, a home is not a building, or a place, or location, it is the feelings, memories, people, and love it contains. Through my journey and experiences in all these countries, I have become who I am today. I will continue to grow since no one actually stops growing and learning, but at least I have had the blessing to build my many homes around the world. Who knows what the future holds? God is guiding me in my path, and that is all I need to know.

Through my narrative I wanted to have a specific and organized structure that represented a timeline. Therefore I though it would be best to travel in chronological order front the first move to the last. I wanted the reader to come along the journey and understand each step that had to be taken. Asyndeton was used a lot when I wanted to describe the impact the country and people had on me. Together, the asyndeton and structure went hand in hand so a coherent tone could be conveyed in a simple manner. Through asyndeton simple statements are made that add on to the organized structure of the text. Syntax had to go along with some of the asyndeton since I also used a lot of repeating phrases, such as, “It made me appreciate what I had, it made me proud, it made me feel empowered, it made me dream, it made me compassionate, it made me grateful, and most of all it made me an authentic Mexican,” on page 2. For some reason I really enjoyed using repeating phrases and asyndeton; it made me feel more poetic and passionate. I love when writers are able to make a statement to prove their point by simply reusing the same phrase over and over again. Through the use of these phrases I described the country and people, however, it was selection of detail and imagery that allowed me to try and pain a picture for the reader. Diction was used through out the entire text and was specifically intended to emphasize some aspects of the sentence, as if trying to bring attention to that specific detail. For example I used the proper term for the volcano in Mexico as “Popocatepetl” instead of the American name. I think this assignment really challenged the writer to be vulnerable but also to expand on writing skills such as the use of rhetorical terms. This narrative made me feel empowered and motivated to continue writing through passion not just to turn in another paper
