the cafeteria, we circle up and say grace as a team before we eat dinner. After grace, we get called out by our position coach to go get our plates. Once everyone has their dinner we begin to clap in sync to celebrate and thank the parents who volunteered to serve us our food. After we have all eaten dinner, we clean up and sit down in a row in front of our coaches. At this time, the coaches begin to go over the stats of last week’s game. On defense, for every three tackles a player receives one bone. For an interception, a tackle for a loss, a sack, and three and out a player can also receive one bone. On offense, for every flat back you get a pancake sticker. As a whole offense, depending on the goal for scoring each player gets a sticker. If the offense rushes over 100 or passes for over 100 yards they receive a sticker for each. The stickers represent your hard work and dedication to the sport and your determination to do whatever it takes to win.

The next bonding tradition, Team lunch takes place on the day of the game, Friday. We usually end up going somewhere to eat that’s not to big, but is pretty good. Once the lunch bell rings as it releases us we head toward the student parking lot to our vehicles. Once we get to the parking lot we decide where we want to go. Then we head out to our destination. When we get there we order individually what we want, we all sit in the same area. Usually all the offensive line and defensive line sit together and all the skill players all sit together. We all just sit and chill and talk to each other about the game that night. Until it is time to head back to school.

Then there comes pre-game. This takes place from once we arrive at the stadium to right before the game starts.Once we arrive we go put all our stuff down in the field house, then we proceed to the stands to watch the Jv game. During this time all of those who need the trainer go on to the field to get wrapped. Once those who went to get taped are done we head over to the field house to get ready for the game. Once we are all ready we head down to the practice field to stretch and do warm-ups. Warm-ups begin with formation recognition for the defense. The defense runs thru different formations that the other team is going to use. Once they are done with formations we go into defensive indo with our position coach. Each position warms up differently. Defensive line men do get offs then read and react. The linebackers practice getting off blocks, blitzing thru the right gaps and dropping to the correct pass drops. Corner practice dropping into coverage and man on man coverage. The safeties practice covering deep routes and reading the run. Then we switch over to offensive indo. The offensive line go thru the different blocking strategies. The quarterback warms up his arm by throwing to the receivers. The receiver run various routes. The running back work on their footwork and taking hand offs. After the indo period we go on to the main field and do our wolf jacks. After wolf jacks we do team defense with a scout offense. Then team offense with no scout team. After we are done with both teams we go into the locker room to pray. We all take a knee and place a hand on another teammate. The one player leading us in prayer is in the center. Finally after prayer we head out to the field for the singing of our national anthem.
