I have conducted a SWOT analysis of my company which includes follows points in its strength, weakness, opportunity and threats:

Strength:

In Kathmandu, there are more than 400 water companies but most of them don’t fulfill the regulatory requirement provide by the Nepal food law and regulation. So, our main strengths are:

- Aqua drinking water P. Ltd fulfills the requirement provided by Nepal food law and regulation.

- International standard certified (ISO 22000) company

- Competent professionals

- 14 stage water treatment system

- Low cost

Weakness:

- Our company is new and don’t have reputation as like established company

- It is very difficult for us to establish reputation on the internet

Opportunities:

- Promotion activities to increase its sells.

- Design of new products with attractive packaging (Premium water product)

- Growing market as people are more conscious about safe drinking water and also due to establishment of many hotels.

Threats:

- The main threat to drinking water companies in Kathmandu is Melanchi Khanepani yojana.

- Competitive market

A competitive strategy is a specific plan for the success of the company by securing a competitive advantage over rivals company in the marketplace (Gamble, Peteraf, & Thompsom Jr, 2013). So, generic competitive strategies for my company will be Cost leadership and Differentiation. It is because Aqua drinking water P. Ltd. is recently established company which means it has lack in the area of customer loyalty like other established company. So, Company needs to provide higher quality and safe drinking water product in low price related to rivals Company for the establishment of customer loyalty and marketplace. Similarly, investment in research and development regarding product and service differentiation is good approach for appeal in the market. Development of premium product can supply to target customer like higher standard customer, big hotel and lodges etc.

Conclusion

In this paper, I have established a fictitious company “Aqua Drinking Water P. Ltd. So, to achieve its long term goal and objective, I have implement best cost provider strategy. This strategy is hybrid strategy which includes low cost provider and differentiation strategy. Similarly, vision and mission is the company’s core which focuses on future condition and present activities of an organization. As per this statement, Aqua drinking water Pvt. Ltd has mission to provide safe & best quality drinking water to its customer and its vision is to become renowned and leading water company regarding safe drinking water. Moreover, I perform SWOT analysis to understand its strength and weaknesses, and identify the opportunities and eliminate its threat through a generic competitive strategy.
