In this case, from the economic responsibilities point of view, the organization in fact is earning, in terms of lowering the cost by not upgrading its waste treatment facilities to meet the recent industry’s standard. Then this will lead to questioning, if organization have been playing by the rules or not by not upgrading to the recent industry’s standard, hence legal responsibilities. Organization may be playing by the rules but how about ethically, which then leading to questioning is it right to be giving out this much waste product, even though their closest competitor haven’t upgrade to the recent standard, it still doesn’t mean it is ethically right to just leave it because other organization is not doing. When philanthropic responsible comes into play in this case, seeing as the organization did not take this issue seriously, the waste products may bring harm or pollution to the environment, this is not contributing but harming.

John could suggest the organization to increase budget to upgrade to the recent industry’s standard, economical point of view it may not be earning a lot, but at the same time, they can advertise about the upgraded facility, which will have more advantage over their closest competitor, hence gaining consumer’s trust. As for the legal responsibilities part, it did not state that it is illegal to not upgrade or producing more waste than before. But seeing that it stated that their closest competitor did not upgrade, assuming that it is legal in this case, as so the organization is playing within the rules. Bringing onto the next responsibilities will be ethic responsibilities. Stated before, it may be legally right but ethically wrong. Producing even more chemical waste will bring harm to environment if not dispose with proper procedure or at the right facility, in another words, ethically not right, which John can voice out. John may be afraid to lose his position in the organization, which leads to whistle blowing, justifying if this act is right or wrong as this does not bring much favor to the organization’s plan, but this act will save the environment from chemical harm, but could lead to losing his position or at worst, his job.
