company case analysis aims to combine elements of historical and economic research in approaching the research questions under examination. The primary source of information includes company reports, company website where international memos and other documents pertaining to the management and function of Company A. The most important aspect of the data collection was the several interviews conducted with executives and mid-level managers at Company A’s Tokyo headquarters and the U.S. operations on the East Coast. This forms the foundation for the case study approach and the Company A’s global strategic planning and new product development. The importance of this case study analysis lies in its revelations of the complicated changes facing a company that was once historically Japanese in its roots but is becoming increasingly international in its scope and operations (Inamori, 1997; Inamori, 2009; Kotter, 1997).
