The other alternative that Google has is to sell the technology to a third party. Google is a technology company that has no experience to sell massive products as it was proven with the launch of the Google glasses back in 2012. The Google glasses have different uses and have good advanced abilities, which are valuable characteristic for a potential third party purchaser. For marketing companies, the glasses will be a huge acquisition since with them is possible to enable location based advertising to people in real time. This could be a new way to advertise a product and will be a new service that a marketing company can offer to its clients. The gaming industry will be another one interested in the acquisition of this technology, since there is an increasing interest in virtual reality games.
Section IV - Recommendation
It is recommended that Google sells to a third party the Google glasses but also buy market shares of that company, so Google will be able to have access to the profits. Google will benefit itself and will also benefit its shareholders. The Google Glass is a great product that deserves a better future and if Google was not able to give it to the Google Glass another company that is capable of doing a proper market research, product positioning and a better branding will. The new company in charge of the Google Glass future will have a lot of obstacles, but a the same time that company will have big opportunities to change the world. The Google Glass is a very powerful product within an unlimited number of usage, which only nee a company capable of selling that idea. Implementing this alternative will be a win-win to Google. Google will gain profit without doing the hard work and will see the Google Glass on the streets.
