An additional concept that made our company a success is that we incessantly conduct customer and competitive evaluations. With the aim of making sure the consumer returns, we have to make certain that they are satisfied with our product and/or service. At the bottom of the receipts, there is a consumer questionnaire that they can be completed online via our company website. The survey asks for the consumers’ feedback on their shopping experience in exchange for 15% off one business deal (up to $60). Our business has witnessed a boost in the amount of completed questionnaires every month since we presented the concept. Additionally, we are constantly in search of ways to get the attention of new and potential consumers. We are always evaluating and considering market trends, in addition to keeping an eye on our competitors. By doing a little web search, you can find out everything you need to about your competitors and their profits, (e.g. what their top sellers are, what products are not really selling and their introduction of new products). Staying in the know with this information can help your company by using their concepts as stepping stones.
At the time of my initial pitch to Mr. Johnson, he asked me what makes Eco-Friendly Nursery different our competitors. As the chief executive officer, I knew he knew the answer, however, this was a great question. My response was simple, “We are unique from other businesses in the industry for the reason that we use solar power to make sure our pumps are operable, and we can salvage and reuse water. Our container pots are made up of 100% recycled goods. We use spot spray as needed, integrated pest management and are constantly searching for ways to substitute chemicals in the process. Eco-Friendly Nursery genuinely care about the environment and we want to make an optimistic and progressive change. You must address that question in a certain way for the reason that your consumers will question themselves, “why should I shop at this store opposed to the store I have been going to for years; what makes this store so different”? You must demonstrate that your business is unique and rare, that it is better than the others, and it will be advantageous for the company.
