- DRIVING TIME AND REST PERIODS (Regulation (EC) No 561/2006)[10]
This regulation establish a common set of EU rules for maximum daily and fortnightly driving times, as well as daily and weekly minimum rest periods for all drivers of road haulage and passenger transport vehicles, subject to specified exceptions and national derogations. The aim of this set of rules is to avoid distortion of competition, improve road safety and ensure drivers' good working conditions within the European Union. Main points of the law are: Daily driving period shall not exceed 9 hours, with an exemption of twice a week when it can be extended to 10 hours and total weekly driving time may not exceed 56 hours and the total fortnightly driving time may not exceed 90 hours. Breaks of at least 45 minutes every 4 and half hour.

Even if it dates back to the 1970, this agreement has been adjusted through the years and still today is used for the transport of perishable food. Every vehicle has to be geared with an ATP certificate. The ATP Agreement establish: the technical characteristics of vehicles used for the transport of deteriorating foodstuffs and the temperatures to be observed during transport of deteriorable foodstuffs. The ATP explain also the ways to calculate the K coefficient which is the coefficient that describr the ability to keep the temperature constant inside a vehicle and to limit heat exchanges with the outside.

- Renault Trucks, stef and carrefour draw a positive review of Midlum 100% electrical of 16 tonnes
For the past 18 months, logistics specialist STEF has been testing an experimental 16 tonne all-electric vehicle under actual operating conditions for Carrefour France. Developed by Renault Trucks and based on a Midlum and in partnership with IFP Energies nouvelles and PVI as part of a project financed by the ADEME, it has covered 16,000 km, delivered 600 t of goods and been greatly appreciated by all concerned.[15]

- Strike at STEF Transport
The French refrigerated transport company STEF Transport has more than 15,000 employees in several European countries. The Vendée branch has approximately 140 employees, including 70 drivers in the Essarts.
