I also loved the end scene when his fellow gymnast asks Dan for advice, and Dan realises that this was a reflection of his former self, showing him how far he had come now. A beautiful moment that gives us the feeling that he's now become the teacher, the master of himself and now in the position to be of service. He believes in himself again.

Thomas Fuller said: “All things are difficult before they are easy.” I could say that this words can truly describe the essence of life. Step by step, everything is possible. Peaceful Warrior becomes a beacon of hope and motivation, an entirely positive reinforcement of the notion that it is indeed possible to pass through life's slings and arrows of outrageous fortune and emerge a fuller, stronger person.

Also, the another insight is from the “Avi Kramer” case which is very touching and a good example of how much a man can achieve with hope, motivation and belief. Everything was against Avi Kramer but all it took him to make the right decision was one day being locked in his room, one day of thinking and considering the possibilities he had – to give up, or to continue, to live as a hero or to die as a coward. Our decisions are what make us ourselves. They define us and the decision he made left a huge legacy after him.

Men like him make the path he went through easier for the future generations, people who will be in his shoes in the future. One must never feel as a victim as our attitude towards things really does matter. He did not blame anyone or anything, from this horrible diagnosis of ALS, on the contrary, to help the future generations, he started sponsoring contests and researches.

When you learn about people like him, and then think about your own problems, you will definitely learn how small and insignificant they are compared to the real difficulties. Of course sometimes we fail, of course things are not always the way we want them to be, but one must never forget that life is a gift you must treasure.

Leadership Qualities to develop myself:

I have Chosen to discuss qualities of Emotional Intelligence, self-awareness and self-regulation. In our discussions many agreed that these qualities are hardest part to work on. These qualities contribute in understanding yourself, your strengths and insecurities. In the example of car, for a smooth ride a good engine is inevitable, but without the shock absorbents the car will lose its path. For self- awareness, I should observe myself in different situations, I shouldn’t deny my feelings, and be honest to myself. In addition, I should try new things, to expand my comfort-zone and find out spheres I am good or bad at. After I identify my feelings, or reactions of my own self, I should try to work on regulations. And for this part, I can’t think anything better than regulating my emotions in situations, day by day.

Recommendations:

To my mind, the course was very interesting and the fact that it was based on the real stories and real people is very adequate. And this stories about usual men makes me feel very strong and confident. And I think that this course does not need any adjustments.

As for methods, I think that the most important thing in the lectures is how professor communicates with students and their relationship is the main factor which influence student’s attitude, hence I recommend more frequent meetings , face to face interaction and eye contact, because when someone you are taking to is not around, it is very uncomfortable. I have to add that I preferred to learn this subject earlier, because in the 8th semester everybody works and we have not had the time to attend every classes. . But again, the rest part of the course was perfect and I hope you will continue like that and give future generation more and more.
