By the time I had a solid Idea of the Job Description, my next task was to know the education I needed and the work environment an Information Security Analyst would be in. I already knew that the work environment for being in the Cybersecurity field would obviously be somewhere around a computers but I had to make sure. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics says “Many analysts work in IT departments and manage the security of their companies computer networks.” So knowing that, I knew I would be surrounded by computers and servers and always be around a company with hundreds of employees. Already knowing about the work environment, I had to know the education needed to be in my desired work occupation. I assumed that the education needed would have to have some kind of experience in the IT field, and possibly a bachelor's degree in computer science. “Plan on obtaining a four-year degree to compete for most cybersecurity analyst jobs. A bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, engineering or a related discipline can be a good start. Some employers may also look for advanced training, industry certifications or work experience.” - Florida Tech Online. To get my bachelors degree in computer science, I had planned to get my Associates Science degree in Network Security at Northwest Florida state college. After obtaining that, I planned on transferring to the University Of Central Florida to complete my four year degree in Computer Science. According to Dr. Richardson at Niceville High School, “You can use florida’s two plus two system and do two years at a state college and then transfer those credits to a University to complete your degree.”

The last thing to know about being an Information Security Analyst was how much they make. To most people being in the IT field automatically means that you’ll make a lot of money, but this isn’t always the case. Some of the entry level IT jobs only make 30,000-40,000$ a year. Being an Information Security Analyst, “The median annual wage for information security analysts is $86,170” according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. The lowest 10% earned less than 49,000 and the highest 10% earned more than $135,000. Knowing all this made me excited for the field I chose because who doesn’t like to make anywhere between $50,000 and $135,000. I know I like to make that much a year.

To wrap up this research paper, I have learned more than enough about the field I want to be apart of in the future. I have learned the Job Description, the Work Environment, the Education needed, and the Salary they make a year. Once I graduate from high school, I’ll be on my way to be becoming an Information Security Analyst.
