clubs, casinos) is only somewhat effective. Research suggests that most teens purchase cigarettes at retail stores that do not always abide by checking identification. Teens are not getting cigarettes from family and friends. By raising the price of tobacco products through taxation, this is a fast and possibly the most effective way to discourage America’s youth from beginning to smoke and to encourage current smokers to quit. Using the dollars generated through taxation on treatment programs for tobacco dependence can also encourage smokers to stop smoking.
Today’s smokers have neglected the health of their fellow American’s (especially children) by endangering those around them with their irresponsible smoking habit therefore; laws must be drafted to ensure the environment is smoke-free. The enforcement of these laws is next to impossible to police, but at least smokers will become more aware of the actions they chose in the presence of others. Erecting signs, using public announcements, and having individuals voice their displeasure with those whom chose to smoke will ensure public places be smoke-free for everyone.
Smoking has a lot of affects that will harm your body. The youth of today, will soon be the youth of tomorrow if no actions are taken to prevent them from smoking. There are a lot of resources out there that are willing to help and make your life better.
You all need to remember that you only have one life and one body, so make sure you take care of it because it can be taken away.
