with rude comments and bullying. Words can hurt;
any victim of cyberbullying can attest to this. We need more reinforcements to take
place in order to stop this controversy that is happening every day and every where.
This is a form of bullying that isn’t noticed until it’s too late. This is causing the loss of
many young people who only wanted to enjoy an product made for entertainment and
socializing. In some places, cyberbullying is a crime punishable by law, but only a few
states have these laws and enforce them. Out of the fifty states in America, only
thirty-four states have laws against cyberbullying and electronic harassment. It’s clearly
shown how much the government and public order care about this situation in certain
areas. I live in one of the states where cyber bullying is not illegal, and I believe many
students would still be breathing and attending this school if there was something being
done to stop it. How are we suppose to believe that we have help in these situations if
the local government doesn’t do anything about it in Tennessee? Laws should be put in
place, schools should have programs to educate students more about this issue, and
awareness needs to be made a priority.
We’ve had the opportunity to use the internet for many years now. It is a privilege
to be able to use a great technology like the world wide web and all we’re doing is
taking advantage of this chance. Too many people are using it as a weapon of
destruction towards others, leading to young innocent teens taking their own lives.
Everyday that we don’t do something about this is a day where the numbers of suicidegrows higher and higher. We need to help the victims of cyberbullying while we can and
then find a way to stop it altogether. No parent should lose their child because a bully
wanted to hide behind a screen and make their child feel they are not important. You
can say that cyberbullying is a horrible thing, but if you don’t take action to stop it or help
a victim of cyberbullying, than you aren’t helping to find a solution for this problem.
