him like that. All he gave the police was a funny look, which does not explain any of the things they have done to him. Because they have the power to control the people in their hands, fatal abuse has become a serious problem. It is also said that McMillan and the 16 years old girl are black. It could not have been about racism, but it is also stated that police killed more unarmed black people than unarmed white people.
Lastly, 97% of cases in 2015 did NOT result any officer(s) involved in being charged with a crime. “When the officers who killed Tamir Rice, Eric Garner, John Crawford, Mike Brown, or Natasha McKenna never even go to trial for what they did, seeing an officer indicted and charged with manslaughter or murder feels a little like fitting a camel through the eye of a needle. Of the 1,200 people killed by American police in 2015, only seven cases resulted in charges — a ridiculously tiny number. Six other officers were charged this year for deaths that happened as far back as early 2013 — as police investigations into their own wrongdoing have a dubious way of dragging on not weeks or months, but years.” It is very depressing to hear that out of 1,200 people faced death from police, but only seven was convicted of crime. It’s also very sad that the police officers have thoughts of them doing the right thing. It is understood that police do feel threatened by the people, but as said before, many of those cases could have gone much better only if they handled them with more care. As to save the victims, not to protect themselves. “New research by a Bowling Green State University criminologist shows that 41 officers in the U.S. were charged with either murder or manslaughter in connection with on-duty shootings over a seven-year period ending in 2011.” It is intolerable that even out of thousands of kills, not even 1/10 of police officers got charged of crime. But it is also disappointing that the people who are supposed to be taking care of us and the people are going to JAIL for doing the opposite, killing and doing things that could get them in trouble.
Thinking about how the victim’s family will be living right this second, it makes people cringe to the thought that innocent people are killed by the people that are supposed to be protecting us and making us feel safe in this country. There are few, actually many cases that involves racism, because almost every case I found by searching was about black men. Police taking control of their power, of guns and force, with unjustified shootings, severe beatings, fatal choking, and rough treatments caused many people to their death. The fact that it is a crime when a normal person kills to defend itself makes me very disappointed in this country, since deaths of innocent people by police is rarely charged for crime. Police officers now, gives more fear than safety which made this country unstable, abusing their powers and getting people in places they don’t need to be in. It’s time for it to change, to stop, to reduce.
