Obviously, Pruitt is a clean power plan denier due to a threat to the oil industry that would assume a decline in the economy. The clean power plan, which aimed to decrease the nation’s carbon pollution by about one-third by 2030, compared with 2005 levels, has long been subject to deep legal fights and that much is unlikely to change now with new Environmental Protection Administration. The clean power plan stood to be a global warming saver and an improvement to the economy of the United States. Jim Marston, vice president of Clean Energy, states on the article titled “3 Ways the Clean Power Plan will strengthen our economy”, on the Environmental Defense Fund
“The clean energy economy is already delivering more quality jobs than the fossil fuel industry. Solar energy, for example, now employs more Americans than coal mining 142,698 versus 89,838 – while the entire renewables industry employed over 700,000 Americans in 2014. Furthermore, one dollar invested in clean energy today creates three times as many jobs as a dollar invested in fossil fuels. And under the Clean Power Plan, this trend will accelerate with the potential to create a quarter-million jobs by 2040” (Marston 1).
These statistics from Marston, vice president of the Environmental Defense Fund, shows clean energy industry will deliver quite more jobs than the oil industry as time passes by. The clean power plan is more beneficial to the economy and the planet’s atmosphere. Pruitt, this evidence shows that the clean power plan has potential to the economy and environment. Several of companies are investing in renewable energy relating to the clean power plan creating as many jobs as invested in fossil fuels. Clean power plan is the right path to succeed removing harmful gases and taking care of a planet that we all live in.
Not to mention again, the planet's temperature is rising. The trend is clear and unmistakable. We are overloading our atmosphere with carbon dioxide, which traps heat and steadily drives up the planet’s temperature. The scientific evidence is clear. Within the scientific community, there is no debate that we need to quickly advance on clean energy. A tremendous majority of climate scientists agree that global warming is happening, and that human activity like fossil fuels and carbon activity is the primary cause.
