While researching the Presidio, I was hoping to find out more about any environmental problems that they have faced in the past. When asked, a nice employee with plenty of knowledge informed me that the Presidio is actually actively working towards habitat restoration along the coasts it resides on. After working tirelessly, they have managed to apply restoration programs and services to more than 20 different sites which covers around 100 acres of their native habitat.
With the Presidio of San Francisco’s beautiful views, kind volunteers and employees as well as their active push for a greener, safer, cleaner future, it is no wonder that they have been a staple of so many people’s visits to San Francisco as well as a place that helps educate our youth about the importance of our environment.

Conclusion
Visiting this magnificent slice of San Francisco with the knowledge I have gained through this course has opened my eyes to many things. While walking, I noticed little details about the area and how the grounds are working towards greener alternatives while operating is something I greatly admire. The Presidio, with its compelling history and remarkable location and beauty, is a place that should be praised for its work in the field as well as its oath in protecting the grounds it so humbly rests upon. Learning more about what exactly they teach and work towards has humbled and inspired me to look for more of these diamonds in the rough throughout the city. This field trip opened me up not only to the opportunity to learn more about a place I love, it allowed me to revisit all of the great memories I have had there
