As Americans we pride ourselves on being called the United States, so much for that we still have so many states that are not on the same page with something as small as gay marriage. We continue to separate ourselves this way. How can we even call ourselves united if we shun those that are homosexuals in love in some states? There are so many definitions for the word united, in agreement, unanimous, one likeminded, joined together politically, for common purpose or feelings. None of these reflect on how we treat gays and their right as Americans in the United States to get married.

Leviticus 20:13 - If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood [shall be] upon them. Christians firmly believe that being gay is an abomination because they are quoting the bible itself. We still run our country on religious views which is why we have so many mixed fillings about laws and life. Why have the constitutional firewall of church and state if we just base our politics off of religious views that not everyone here has? That is a huge reason why gay marriage isn’t accepted everywhere in the U.S now. Again that is fine to feel however you would like about the matter but “what they eat doesn’t make you shit!” What will happen if we did stop gays from getting married? What will that do for the ones that are already married? What did we even accomplish here? Not influencing our kids to live their life being happy with whomever they want? Causing mass riots and revolts? We already have other countries against us for other reasons. So much other nonsense going on in the world and we continue to move backwards instead of progressing forward. Why give the people who do live here a reason riot and revolt and try and cause more issues. “United we stand united we fall.” I do not see truth in any of that statement. We stand separated because we cannot learn to accept each other for who we are as human beings. And we will surely fall separated if we continue to exile, bully, and shun others that would like to live their lives happily however that may be.
