end parents from neglecting their child, and to end situations where a parent may be forced to neglect a child . by creating a programs that can provide the proper knowledge about general child development and overall child-rearing skills for parents and caregivers we can strive to end child neglect. The most common type of these programs that help parents are emotional support groups these provide effective support because they can give an isolated caretaker the emotional support they need. A group of researchers created an 8-month program that focused on providing mothers with social support and training in basic child rearing techniques. they also provide the parent with problem-solving techniques and decision-making skills. This program also provided children with a child mentor that served as-as an older sibling to the dyad of parent and child they provided an engaging and affectionate positive atmosphere for the child. The preliminary results have shown that there have been a lot of benefits including the reduction parental psychological distress and greater child managements and nurturance skills. The large scale implementation of such a program could see a lot of poor and low economic status individuals lowering their rates of child neglect and also provide parents of all groups with a basis as to what it is to neglect a child. The proper use of education can provide parents with an understanding of the key and underlying factors of child neglect.
So along with educating parents we need to create a program that also teaches children to understand what true neglect is and that reporting it should not be looked down upon but rather looked as a way to provide children with all their needs. By instituting a program that teaches kids the definition and procedures of how to report such problems of neglect we can further less the amount of incidents of child neglect. By educating parents and children we can strive to cure child neglect at a fundamental level rather than just treating the symptoms.
researchers have shown that individuals that participate in programs are less likely to commit acts of child neglect, and have shown that kids are happier and are less likely to be anti-social. overall the keys to solving this problem is proper education of caretakers and children and to define what constitutes neglect as a society.
