cab that day it was impossible for detectives to tell who the fingerprint belonged to. Very few eye witnesses, all of the victims said they saw the same thing. A man approached them with a flashlight and a small pistol shined the light on their eyes and fired at them he. He was seen wearing an executioner style cloak and clip on glasses, he would notoriously wear a black sweatshirt with a circle and an X through it. This became an icon among law enforcement and is known as the zodiac symbol.
The case is still open and no hard suspects have been found yet. No one was ever convicted to be the killer yet over the years people still claim to know who the killer is. Many people who’ve come forward saying that they know who the killer is with evidence are discredited and still to this day we do not know who the killer is. There are many conspiracies as to who the zodiac killer is, some as far fetched that politician Ted Cruz is the killer due to the shocking similarities between the sketches of the killer and Cruz. Many people also believe that it was not one person but a collection of people working together to send a message that our law enforcement is a joke. These conspiracies have created a huge “fan” base for the case and there are a lot of blogs and websites with people’s different ideas about the case. The case was also made into a major motion picture in 2008 starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Robert De Niro. The case still takes new evidence and tips from people every day but most of the time it is false information or people looking for attention by claiming to know something about the case.
