Holland

Holland is a region and former province on the western coast of the Netherlands.

Breakfasts are usually taken between 08.00 and 09.00.

Lunch in Holland is rather light. As in other places in Northern Europe, the Dutch have a sandwich or some fast food between 11.00 and 13.00. Finally, the dinner, which is the strongest dish of the day, is taken between 18.00 and 20.00.

El Rijsttafel

It is typical food made of rice, it is a very characteristic dish of the gastronomy of Holland. The rice is served mixed with all kinds of legumes, meat and even coconut. This food really was not part of the traditional gastronomy of Holland, but of Indonesia, but due to the colonization of the country, the plate has assimilated so much that now is a typical dish of Holland.

Erwtensoep

This is probably the most typical soup of the Dutch gastronomy. It is a soup made with peas and it is very typical to eat it at night for dinner. Green peas are a common element in traditional Dutch cuisine and often accompany many meals and dishes.

Typical costume in Holland.

* The woman composes her typical costume in the base of a vertically striped skirt that includes many colors where orange predominates, characteristic color of the nation. The other piece of his suit includes a black short sleeve remerite. Above it is placed a small cloak that is located frontally and covers only the top of the shirt.

* The man wears a wide black trousers. At the top, he wears a striped shirt that is all covered by a black sack. It has some minimal details that make it stand out.

Both wear clogs.

Seasons

* Spring in Holland is a party. After the long autumn and winter, there are no people who receive more joyfully the first spring days. Across the country chairs are pulled out, even on the tiniest terraces. The people of Holland whistle happily while riding a bicycle.

* The summer months are a fantastic time in Holland.

In the big cities the canals are full of boats, parks full of people snacking or barbecue, and terraces to overflow until well into the afternoon. The Dutch spend as much time outdoors as possible.

* The winter, with its beautiful snowy or icy landscapes. Every year, when it starts to get really cold, many Dutch people get ice skating fever, skating on ice canals before enjoying hot chocolate with cookies.

* Autumn in Holland is marked by color. Dutch forests and parks are at their most beautiful, dressed in red, yellow, green and brown just before the trees lose
