How 211.Org Can Help with Public Service

Based on what I learned from my textbook, as well as the use of technology, the suggestions I would make to the head of agencies that are servicing my community would include making sure that everyone who needs access to technology has it before converting all applications online, provide ways for someone to see how they are going to use technology to submit applications or information so there isn’t a delay in the processing of the application, and by making sure there is technical support to help those that are struggling when attempting to use technology (Woodside, 2015). I say this because those that are applying for assistance usually do not have the resources they might need in order to do everything electronically (Woodside, 2015). I feel that because of the financial burden that people are experiencing, they might not be able to afford computers, so making sure that everyone has access to a computer, or knows where they can use a computer for free, might make it easier for someone to be open to submitting applications online. Also, these same people might not know how to use computers or technology very well because they haven’t been around them, so teaching them things like this would make the use of technology a lot easier. Finally, making sure there is someone to support these individuals would be an important aspect so even when an individual tries and has difficulties, there will be some form of support to help them get through the process.
