Julius Cesar was one of the many leaders of Rome but he might be the most famous in the western civilization. Julius Cesar was not a great tactician but he was persistent and determine to be known as one of the best leader and general. Julius Cesar always crave more power that he did gain by defeating the Germanic tribes. Julius Cesar decided to build a bridge that was advanced for his time that left Germanic tribes impress and terrified. Julius Cesar thirst and growth of power led him to his death on the hand of Marcus Junius Brutus after some senators feared his power as a dictator. This shows the Roman national ego as determination of overcoming what is seen as something near impossible

Augustus nephew of Julius Cesar was the first leader of Rome to be an Emperor. Augustus like his uncle also led until his death. He was not afraid to establish to Rome Empire but expanding by adding many nations and other Empires also help to establish an Empire. Augustus started the Pax Romana era where the Roman did not have many altercation outside the Roman Empire. But inside the Roman Empire had altercations with the civil wars. Augustus show Roman national ego by establishing new leadership, overpowering, and adding other nations to the strength of the Roman Empire.

The Roman national ego has been passed through each Roman generation, it is installed into each leader through their blood. Each of those leaders might have done it differently but some might do it for their own selfishness but it always was for the best of Rome. The Roman national ego is the pride and honored of being part of Rome not just the most powerful and influential of ancient history but maybe of all time.
