- GENERATING ALTERNATIVES :

G.1) The management must meet individually Mr.Rajan and Mr.Somaraju and try to reach a mutual consensus by way of the following :

- By making each parties realize that both are valuable to the company and that both have a good track record in the organization .This would provide for the much required ego boost .

- To state very objectively the facts of the current conflict and making each of them realize their respective faults and professional shortcomings with regards to this case and at the same time taking care they don’t get too defensive. This should bring about an amicable outcome.

G.2) The management can go for thorough investigation of the case with the

identification of the offender but not making it public and accordingly take

talk to Mr.Rajan and Mr.Somaraju and resolve the issue in a conducive way

without resorting to punitive action .

- ALTERNATIVE WITH RATIONALE :

In the best interest of the company it make sense to go for alternative one as it resolves the issue in a very short period of time and without damaging the morale , productivity of the employees as well as without affecting the day to day functioning of the company . The time saved on the part of the management can be put to better administrative use.

- PREDICTED OUTCOME : Amicable resolution of the conflict with normalcy returning to the plant .

- PLAN FOR IMPLEMENTATION :

The situation calls for objective judgment and professional negotiating skills to resolve the conflict amicably .Implementing alternative one as stated above hopes to achieve the same .

- CONTINGENCY PLAN :

In the worst case scenario if amicable resolution of the conflict doesn’t work then the management should order for a comprehensive investigation of the case and suspend both Mr.Rajan and Mr.Somaraju during the investigation period . After the investigation the management should take the most objective decision with the best interest of the company in mind .
