the New world. All thier day was spent seeking gold. The settlers had to find a way to make a profit or else they couldn’t come. Most English people came to the New World and became Indentured servants.This job was most popular in the Chesapeake area. Indentured servants were people who promised their labor in order to come to the New World.

The people who usually came over in the chesapeake area we poor or had debt. Working as indentured servants was the only way they could possibly come over here.Most people that settled in the New England colonies were wealthy and were very religious. They mostly likely paid their own way. They had a less amount of work force than the Chesapeake too. Document B shows that people that and to the New England colonies came with their whole families and their servants.Unlike Document B, Document C shows the people that came over to the Chesapeake area and how they didn’t come in families.

The final main reason theses two regions developed differently is because the grew up with different rules and regulations within their society. Document D show how Massachusetts set rules and regulations within society based on their beliefs. In the document, it shows how they set up up rules dealing with the grace of God and following christ. In the Chesapeake, their rules and regulation were mostly dealing with working/labor. For example, Governor John Smith Establish the rule in Jamestown, VA that if you don’t work, then you don’t eat. This inspired the people of Jamestown to work even harder, so they will be able to eat. The Chesapeake was way more strict than the New England Colonies as you can tell. The Chesapeake was a hard working and more harsh society, while the New England colonies focused on niceness and equality of everyone. Document H shows how people were at risks in the chesapeake and how they werent really cared for.

The Development of the New England and Chesapeake colonies were very different.The colonies each had different guidelines they followed, different practices, and all kinds of different laborers that lived in their region laborer to keep the economy/ society running.Each area had their own style of doing things which resulted in different societies.
