These are issues brought up in many American households that we must face, facing these different scenarios. They scenarios like this one are life changing and in this case Hansberry showed us how strong a family can become by knowing where they came from, knowing their history, knowing that they are a product of their generations, and they must keep these identifiers for future generations to grow.
With the whirlwinds of life, the balance of love and hate, and the imagination of our past. Ms. Hansberry provided viewers and readers to know what it was like living in 1950’s and 60’s. She gave us a glimpse of how families operate through the tough times and the more generous days. Providing readers a better understanding of many colored families living arrangements based racial division. Describing some of the issues and decisions that came across with in colored families’ homes, and providing how stereotypes can be inflicted by others and by individuals themselves. Ms. Hansberry gave families of all races a short glimpse of people of color in that era, but she has done more by giving everyone that touches this book with knowledge that can carry for the rest of their lives by aging like “A Raisin in the Sun”.
