lands”(dickinson) the little bird still manages to sing the tune that never stops.

Which brings me back to the theme hope can be as small as something like a little bird but as long as you have it, it can be the biggest thing that gets you out the the storm. The author points out how no matter what this little bird goes through it still a manages to sing the tune with no words and never stop which symbolizes the hope and endurance the little bird has, almost saying that if this little creature can go through the strangest of seas and the chillest places and still keep the sweetest tune, humans should be able to do the same thing being that we go through a lot of things in life as well but if we have even the smallest hope in things one can be joyful and create a better environment for the ones around them. I say that because the little bird appearing to keep a joyful atmosphere is giving off an effect to the speaker and ends up giving her hope her as well and she goes into thought about what this little creature goes through..

All in all Emily Dickinson’s “ ”Hope” is a thing with Feathers” is a poem explaining the small adventures and hope within such a little creature. This poems uses a personification, metaphors and end rhyme to set a certain tone, and lastly a slight use of symbolism. The overall theme of this poem is how hope can be as small as something like a little bird but as long as you have it, it can be the biggest thing that gets you out the the storm.
