Most importantly, Sammy felt that he had a responsibility to quit his job in response to the way his boss treated the girls in the store. His boss began to pick on the girls, particularly the one that he had begun to have a secret crush on. Sammy was appalled by the actions of his boss, and he felt horrible for the girls, whom his boss had humiliated. Sammy felt like he was obligated to stand up for the girls. I think that his actions were definitely justified because if I had been in his position I probably would have done the same thing. Sammy showed maturity and respectfulness when he decided to quit his job and stand up to his boss.
To sum up, Sammy had a variety of rational reasons for deciding to quit his job at the grocery store. He had no interest in the job, and resented the fact that he had not acquired it on his own, but had to rely on his parents. He also did not agree with the way that his boss had treated some of the grocery store customers, and he felt compelled to stand up for them. I believe that in the situation the Sammy was placed in, he showed a great level of maturity. I commend him for having the courage to stand up to his boss because he believed it was the righteous thing to do and for having the integrity to do his own thing instead of having to depend on his parents for assistance.
