time. Pat however was a formidable take no crap kinda woman. She stood by herself and expected respect. She had the mouth of a truck driver, meaning she was as vulgar as the worst of them. Then theres the three hippies who were constantly stoned. They mirrored the three weird sisters (aka the witches) their cauldron comparison was a magic 8 ball which is a tip off to the 70s due to the iconic symbol the magic 8 ball is of that decade. The phrase “foul is fair, fair is foul” was included in their characters which is straight out of the original play. They were talking about a chicken that was dropped off of a ferris wheel but in the play the witches were foreshadowing the play declaring the theme in Act 1 scene 1.

The phrase means that Macbeth and Mac both are gaining from the product of bad and or evil and the action is the product of another doing good and or trying. Thus the paradox woven within both storylines. The themes are clear in both forms of the production. The characters are in a test of mental order, the good versus evil of the mind. The simple action of deducing actions and how the actions rot the mind. Mental illness has infected the two characters so utterly due to the stresses and the secrets weight upon them. The gain of the characters the rise to power the crimes that have to go with that rise. They take their toll.

Shakespeare’s iconic tragic play Macbeth has transferred into the hilarious low budget sunset festival movie Scotland, PA. The hilarity of the production cant go unnoticed. The movie echoes the greatness of the play and still manage to send out the hilarity that it does. The play written by the king of satire Shakespeare will always be one to behold., in all forms of production. Whether inspired or a exact production of it.
