lives are ended every year because of the inappropriate use of guns. As reported by Physicians for Social Responsibility, “when a gun is kept in a home, death is three times more likely to occur” (Reich, Culross, Behrman). This shows not only that guns should be used wisely, but they should also be kept around responsible people. If the gun holder isn’t responsible, then one can assume that only poor decisions will come out of their ownership. According to recent findings, “there have been more than 95 school shootings since Sandy Hook Elementary’s tragic loss back in 2012” (Casey). This one misuse of a gun has had a ripple effect, showing that when one sets a bad example and is successful at it, others like to “test the waters”. In fact, there are many lives of children that are ended each year because of guns which is because people weren’t using them appropriately.

Guns have had a negatively important effect in our world’s past because they are strongly encouraged by the media, have an easy ownership for underaged youth and have caused many children’s lives to tragically end. One of the main reasons why guns have impacted our world today, is because the media has encouraged children to violently use guns. There is also an easy availability to get the guns at such a young age, and our world has not benefitted from it. Guns have lastly impacted our world in a deficient way by causing many children’s lives to end too soon because of inappropriate use. Overall, guns have been around for a very long time and have negatively impacted our world today.
