with only her ankle bracelet.” A quick summary by Threemoviebuffs.com. The story put out by this director and film writer shows the mystory in film noir, Sometimes this seems like one of the most dark film noir films i’ve seen, though I haven’t seen that many. The suspense of always looking over your shoulder and watching your back is both Exhilarating and nerve racking. The Camera Angles of this movie are high and wide which gives it an older more ancient look to it. It puts us more in a character’s point of view which helps us relate more to the character. Dark lighting with a brighter foreground cause the scene too look either dark outside or more mysterious and shady. And now onto our final movie out of the past.
“A woman and a man sit on a moonlit beach. She’s a mobster’s girlfriend, who shot him and absconded with $40,000. He’s the private eye sent to bring her back. He’s found her here, in Acapulco, and fallen for her. They kiss, and she pleads with him not to take her back: "I didn’t know what I was doing. I didn’t know anything except how much I hated him. But I didn’t take anything." She moves closer: "Don’t you believe me?" "Baby," he responds, plummeting into another kiss, "I don’t care." a short summary of out of the past by theatlantic.com. Right away this shows that the story is very dark and mysterious and making the audience more interested in the story and what happens next. The scenes are mostly lit by one light making it look more like a nightscape all the time. Honestly that adds more of a suspense during the night, because the strange things happen in the dark. The camera angles in this film noir are very up close and personal giving you a distinct point of view of the characters so you can get more attached to the characters and their stories.
There are three things that make a movie, film noir; Good camera angles, Ominous lighting, and a mysterious story. These three films have proven that those things are good things to determine if a movie is film noir or not. The film noir time frame was the beginning of movies but honestly it was one of the peaks along with the movie Avatar’s amazing special effects in 2009. Hopefully they’ll start bringing it back to show younger generations the stunning visuals of a film noir.
