and the mother are content and comfortable with the way they are living and most likely will never change the way they do things and the way they look at the things they have. The fire made the mom more sensitive to Maggie because she is the daughter that got injured and have burn marks that is is going to have to live with for the rest of her life. Now the mom feels as if she have to protect her from everything else because after the fire she do not talk anymore and is very shy.

    Overall the mother and her daughter Dee are living two different lives and may not ever be on the same page as far as their value of the things they have and the way they view the culture of life. Dee will continue to explore the world and learn more things about the culture and one day she might come back to visit he sister Maggie and mother to find them living the same ife the same way it was before she left for school and when she came to visit. That is what she has to accept that they will always be closed minded and also Maggie and her mom is going to have to realize that Dee do not mean them any harm she just want to share the way she lived and grew up with other people so they can learn from her like she learned from others when she left her mother’s home to go to school.
