To solve the problems, it can make some change start from service design process.

First, the restaurants can arrange a queening machine which is use for get the ticket, it will display the estimate waiting time, when the restaurant can arrange the table, customers will be notice by phone call, the customer can choose to walk around or shopping rather than just waiting outside. It will also arrange employees to assist customer registration; the detail will be mention in the recommendation of servicescape.

On the other hand, it is also suggest that Simplylife can provide reservation, when customer have make the reservation, they can reduce the time of waiting, when the waiting time decrease, the efficiency also be improves.

Simplylife bakery café can increase the manpower, for examples, recruit part-time server in peak hours such as dinner time.

On the other hand, Simplylife bakery café can arrange the staffs focus on specific areas such as making order and deliver food, according to division of labor; it can improve the efficiency of employees. (Rueschemeyer, D.1986)

For the restrict standards on foods, customers waiting is inevitable. Simplylife bakery café may improve efficiency on other way. It can provide the scripts to employees such as told customers it mays need thirty minutes to prepare the cuisine but actually it may just take fifteen minutes, when it can deliver the foods before prediction, it is also efficiency in customer minds.

Employees should also give reminder to customers about the dissert area before they pay the bill, or otherwise introduce the dissert area after the customers ask, then it is low efficiency.

To provide a simple, romantic and comfortable decoration and atmosphere to customers, it just provide table, chair and sofa with the dark lighting, but accidents may occur in both employees or customers, when the employees get hurt, they may not able to work and affect the efficiency of company.

In the back stage, as Simplylife bakery café aim at provide high quality of products, all cuisine are make after receive order, it can ensure the service quality but it is low efficiency.

For the delivery process, Simplylife are using tray at this moments, but it is easy to fall down when the waiters or waitress being hit or tired, and it is a low efficiency. (Maxim’s Caterers Limited, 2009)

Recommendation of Servicescape

To reduce the employees workload and improve efficiency, it is suggest that to arrange a queening machine outside the restaurant that show the numbers of following table and use for registration, when the employees are busy on answering customer’s enquiry, they may not able to register for every customers, therefore customer can fill the information such as how many peoples and phone number and they can also get the ticket, customer will receive call when they can be arrange a table. It can reduce the employee’s workloads and increase the efficiency; the register process will be smoother.

For the improvement of the environment, restaurants can put a plastic candle light on each table; it can reduce the accidents being occurs. When the employees were hurt and cannot work, the efficiency will be decrease.

Technology can bring a positive impact on improve the working efficiency. (Mudie and Pirrie (2006: 48). It is recommend that Simplylife can provide a tablet on each table, it is use to make the order, it can save the customer’s time waiting for the staffs. In addition, it can also avoid the human errors such as order missing.

It has been mention in the beginning, Simplylife bakery café are using the standardisation, it means all the foods and materials are fixed, therefore some cuisine such as appetizers or salads can be prepare in the beginning and deliver to customer immediately.

In the deliver process, according to the tray are dangerous and low efficiency, it is recommended restaurant can add some diners. Tray cannot put many of foods maybe just two or three dishes, when using a diner, it can deliver eight to ten dishes of foods in each time, it is more safety and it can reduce the time in deliver process.

People Strategy

According to marketing mix theory, People are a vital ingredient in service industry; it is required to create a competitive advantage and increase efficiency by recruiting and training the right staff. Because of people is one of the few elements of the service that customers can see and interact with; therefore customers make judgments about service provision and delivery based on the people representing your organization. Staffs require appropriate interpersonal skills, aptitude, and service knowledge in order to deliver a quality service.

Simplylife bakery café have provide a unified uniforms to employees, uniforms are use to identify the firm’s personnel, it is the physical symbol that embodies the group’s ideals and attributes, facilitates perceptions of consistent performance, well-dressed personnel are perceived as more intelligent; better workers and more interactive.

Although the above elements can provide positive images to customers but Simplylife bakery café still have some policy need to be change to improve the efficiency.

Simplylife bakery café is very busy especially in peak hour; employees may not handle heavy workload. Although it have some requirement when recruit employees, it require the servers need to graduate from F.5 or above, and be well communicate in Cantonese, English and Mandarin, it ensure servers have the basic communication skill to serve different customers but it may not enough to handle the workload. (Appendix. 3)

Maybe according to large amounts of needs to employees, when the peoples fit the above elements, it is easy to be employed but the quality may be low. They may lazy or focus on playing mobile on working hours; it will lower the efficiency of company.
