“Jones!! Jones!! Wake up!” Admiral Williams voice had woken me up from my faint.

“Thank god you’re alive. I thought you were dead too. Don’t play tricks on me. But are you okay?” Admiral Williams spoke to me in a serious voice. “If you return he will return” I whispered. “Wake up! Jones! We need to find your partner before we are in danger too!” yelled Admiral Williams. “Sorry sir. I woke up with this quote in my mind. I can’t get it off of my mind until I know what it means.” I said in quiet voice. I woke up still unsure of what the quote meant and I walked again.

The sun started to set and the stars started to rise. The weather dropped by the hour and I was getting cold. But we still walked. My legs were in pain and I could feel my nails ripping off. But as a Marine I couldn’t show weakness to my Admiral. I just had to think of the quote and walked with hope that I will see Jay again in my eyes.

We reached to the river that was close by the cave that Jay might be alive. I thought about the quote for a moment and searched near the cave. Then the voice whispered into my head again, “Take him home”. “What are you talking about? Who’s he? Admiral Williams? Give me a break tell me who you are!!” I yelled at the dark sky at a mad voice. Admiral Williams looked at me like I was weird. But he didn’t care because he already knew I was weird. Instead, he just left me alone.

We searched for minutes that soon turned into hours. My watched ticked to midnight and I was yawning by then. I wasn’t surprised if I had fell down and slept. But I thought about Jay and I kept on searching until I heard a voice.

“H, Help! Anyone there? My feet are broken and I can’t stand!” yelled a voice way deep in the cave. “Jay? Is that you? It’s me Jones! Zach Jones! Your partner!” I yelled back at the cave. “Zach? Help!!” the familiar voice replied. “We have to get in there and search sir.” I told Admiral Williams. “Okay, then if you say so I’ll go with you.” Replied Admiral Williams.

We walked in the cave slowly. Taking careful steps until we caught site of moving. “Is someone there?” I asked in a scared voice. “Z, Zach? Is that you? Zach Jones?” answered the moving object. “J, Jay? Is that you?” I replied. I went close to the moving object until I noticed it was Jay. “Oh my god it’s you Jay!” I exclaimed with happiness. “Yeah! We’re back!” exclaimed Jay. Admiral Williams was in tears. When he enjoyed the moment of joy. I put on my flashlight and saw Jay’s smiling face. But I could clearly see his feet both bent side ways due to the fall.

Admiral Williams and I carried Jay back to the American Base. All Marine staff celebrated Jay being back. Then, that’s when I noticed what the first quote meant. “If you return he will return” If I return to where I lost Jay, Jay will return to the United States Marine Corps!

I shared the quote with Jay and took a peaceful time home.
